Busy Busy!!!

These past two weeks have been crazy to say the least! Between Closing on our First Home, my Birthday, Jared's Birthday, My Mom's Birthday, Savannah's First Birthday, Moving, and my Mother breaking her arm...... I have been going non stop!

I promise to have updates on all of these fun events. Today feels like life may be slowing down a little bit but who knows! Work was good today I got an email today from my client at work thanking me profusely for all I have done for their account since I took over in December so I guess all the work I have been doing is starting to pay off! Hallelujah!

Also, my mom's break in her arm was pretty bad so Friday Morning she is having surgery on her arm at The Med. Her surgery is being performed by a Trauma Specialist due to the extent of the break. So if you could say a prayer or five hundred Friday morning we would greatly appreciate it. I know she's ready to be done with all this! I better get back to unpacking!

It's FINALLY FRIDAY...free at last!

Hello Weekend I have missed you greatly! I don’t know how I made it through a 5 day work week. These past four days are killing me! Since I’m so sneaky I’ve managed to only work 4 day weeks for my WHOLE birthday month. I must give some credit to the government and Mother Nature! I’m so excited about this weekend. You might ask why so I will tell you! WE’RE GOING TO LOOK AT PUPPIES TOMORROW!!!!! Not just any puppy but a Bull Mastiff puppy. I’m so freaking excited. I’ve waited my whole life to get a puppy. Growing up we had two Lhasa Apses but we rescued both of them when they were about two years old so I’ve never had a puppy. I literally have asked Jared for a puppy since we started dating. It just never was the right time. I completely understood (sort of). We were in apartments which charged ridiculous pet deposits and then a monthly fee tacked on to your rent. BOO!!! So now that were purchasing our first home it’s time to get a puppy!

I know we’re not really getting a puppy but instead a small horse. Ha-Ha But we, I mean Jared has done lots of research on this breed for about a year now. Basically, they are big couch potatoes! I can’t wait for lazy afternoons lying on the couch with the puppy! In true Kelly form I have already looked into Dog clothing. She must be stylish at all times. Some of the outfits are a surprise for Jared but I will post pictures as soon as he sees them! I’m getting excited just talking about puppies!

Not only have we picked out a breed and found a breeder but we’ve also decided on her name too.

Mable Anne Franks

Doesn’t that sound precious??? The only thing that sucks about a big dog is how big the price tag is for all her goodies! The crate alone is 120.00. Goodness Gracious! I’m also on the hunt for a ginormous monogrammed dog bed. Does anyone know where we can purchase one? I can hardly wait to get little Mable. Tomorrow is just to go look but I’m hoping Jared breaks down and purchases one! Keep your fingers crossed!

On to the topic of Exercise, I went to my second Zumba class last night and it ROCKED MY FACDE OFF!! Last night was 30 minutes of intense Zumba and thirty minutes of arms, legs, and abs. Holy Moly, my legs do not like me this morning. I needed it after I consumed my 2 pound salad from Schnuck’s Salad Bar. It was truly glorious and I ate every last bit of it! I’m a MONSTER! Ha-ha Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Longest Post Ever....

I started out last week so good and blogged Monday and Tuesday then I fell of the face of the earth. Not really, I honestly don’t have a good excuse!

Last week was an okay week. Nothing really exciting happened. I didn’t run as much as I needed too but goodness gracious it’s been FREEZING COLD outside lately! Plus, the treadmill and I have a love/hate relationship right now! I love to hate it!!

Friday was fun. We met up with some of our friends and ate catfish at the Brunswick General Store. If you live in the area and love Fried food you MUST and I repeat MUST make a trip out there to eat Catfish on Friday night! Not to mention my in-laws run the place, so I’m somewhat partial. The fish was EXCELLENT and the company was great!

Saturday was girl’s day and Jared had a Man day! I was up bright and early and met Ashlee for Zumba. It was so much fun and I will go ahead and admit we we’re both sweaty beasts afterwards. I’m going to put a plug in here. If you live anywhere near Arlington you should try it out! It’s every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. It’s at a cheerleading gym called CSI. Afterwards, we met Ashlee’s friend Courtney for Lunch. She is HILARIOUS! Then we proceeding to TCBY and snuck frozen yogurt into the movies where we watched Dear John. It was great!!! The epitome of a chick flick. Jared and his Dad went to the Memphis game with my parents.

Saturday night was spent changing my flat tire…LOADS OF FUN!! Luckily it happened in our apartment complex and not on the side of the interstate. PTL! Sunday I woke up with a headache so no church for us. After I slept for a little bit we headed to Sears to get the Tire fixed and then to the mall to use some gift cards!! I got some new Bumble and Bumble Shampoo and Conditioner. I think I’m in love! This chick is a B&B girl now!

We watched part of the Super Bowl at Jared’s parents and the rest at home; avoiding all Food Temptations. Ha-ha! I was so glad the Saints won. They definitely deserved it. I wished I was in New Orleans for all the celebrations! Sunday night I prepared myself for work Monday. I decided to change my hours back to 8-5. That meant I was waking up an hour earlier so I tried to get as much ready for the next morning as possible.

Monday morning rolls around and I drag myself spring out of bed and start to get ready. Around 6:15 a.m. I get a text from my co-worker saying that the office was closed. I was dumbfounded. Why the heck was the office closed? So I go check out what going on outside. HOLY MOLY there is snow everywhere and more is falling. We ended up getting about 5 inches. It was so much fun. Jared and I hung out all day. We played in the snow and made snow dragons…pictures to come. It was a much needed day away from the office. Tuesday was back to WORK.

I’ve officially lost 1.8 lbs! We’re doing a biggest loser competition at work for charity so of course I signed up. It should be fun. I like that it holds me accountable for my weight and working out. I’m hoping to fit in a treadmill work out tonight. It’ll have to be later because after work, I’M ON MY WAY TO SEE THE TIGERS PLAY! I’m so excited. Tiger Basketball is my favorite. I’m a little upset about Niles. I’m interested to see how they do without him. Oh well, I’m just ready for next year and all our big recruits!

Epic Fail

Hello my name is Kelly and I’m addicted to chewy gummy candy; preferably hot tamales and gummy bears! The first step in overcoming addiction is admitting you have a problem, right? Last night after I finished being good and working out I busted open a box of hot tamales. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t almost 11 o’clock and I have no concept of serving size. I stopped myself at a handful and a half but I definitely could’ve eaten the ENTIRE box! Not only did this result in guilt but I also went to bed with a tummy ache. Maybe I’ll learn my lesson some day until then I may or may not have a container of gummy lips in my car’s console.

So last night I ran my 2 miles and walked about 1.5 miles. Day One of half-marathon training was a success! However, the first part of the run was AWFUL! Remember me telling you that I had downloaded a book to listen to while I ran? Well I chose the most somber and monotone book ever. I’m very excited about listening to it but listening to it while I run is a no-go! Epic Fail! Good thing the book was only $5.95 on ITunes. Jared won’t be too mad. Ha-ha

On to the topic of moving. I successfully ganked 20 boxes from work yesterday. Now I just need to start packing them. I think I’m going to start with my desk and then move to closets. Only 17 more days until CLOSING DAY! I’m so excited. Not so much about the actual moving but definitely about having more than one bathroom, no crazy dog above us anymore and our 2 car garage. Life will be good.

This morning I decided to try out Baked Apple Oatmeal. I borrowed the recipe form IGE. Let’s just say it was a little slice of Heaven in my mouth. All you do is combine:

1/3 cup of oats

2/3 cup of milk

Vanilla

Cinnamon

Baked apple (cup up an apple and nuke it for 90 seconds with cinnamon, honey and a splash of water)

*Bake at 375 degrees for 14 minutes
Remove and add brown sugar and chopped almonds or walnuts
*Bake again for another 14 minutes

I think I might add a little Splenda it just wasn’t quite sweet enough but other than that it was AMAZING! Hope everyone has a great day!

Shape Up 2010

Today I officially start Half Marathon Training. My first run is 2 miles which will unfortunately have to be completed on the treadmill otherwise known as the revolving apparatus of death! j/k It’s really not that bad for any length under 4 miles but after that I get very bored. Luckily the treadmill at the gym has a T.V. and I’ve downloaded “The Shack” from ITunes audio books. I’ve seen some runners in the blog world listening to books while they run so I figured I would give it a try as well. My training this week looks pretty easy to accomplish:

Monday – 2 miles
Tuesday – Spin Class
Wednesday – 2.5 miles
Friday - Rest maybe aeroboxing
Saturday – 3 miles and Zumba with Ashlee
Sunday – Rest
*I added the aerobics classes in there on my own. They are not required for training but they can only help my endurance!

This weekend was fun. Friday we were sent home at 10 a.m. due to the Winter Storm that was on its way to Memphis. Everything closed down. We ended up getting tons of ice with a sprinkling of snow. My parents lost power Friday night and it stayed out til late Saturday afternoon. We were very fortunate that we didn’t lose power. Jared and I stayed at home and avoided all the ice and snow Friday Night. We did venture out Saturday to help throw a couples shower for out close friends Brett and Brittany a.k.a Brettany. It was so much fun. I think Brett was really excited about all his Lowe’s gift cards.

We ended up spending the night at Jared’s parents’ house. It was a lot easier to drive to their house than to drive all the way downtown plus our toilet was out of commission! That’s a whole other story! I love spending the night out there. We woke up and ate a huge breakfast and then spent the day running errands with Ashlee, Jared’s little sister. She got some amazing new shoes. They’re puma’s and I secretly am obsessed with them. Aren’t they cute???

They come in pink too! Too bad we're on a budget. I keep telling myself….we’re getting a house clothes and shoes are not important right now however my brain is not on the same page! This budget stuff is going to be the death of me. Now it’s Monday and I’m doing it all over again. Better get back to work!
